One year after the webinar organized by the Inter-American Children’s Institute of the Organization of American States (IIN-OAS), in collaboration with the Francesco Tonucci Social Promotion Association, the “I GO OUT TO PLAY” CAMPAIGN was officially launched in Italy on April 8.

The goal of this campaign is to strongly raise awareness about the need for children’s freedom of movement and their right to free play — especially at a time when the use of digital devices is impacting their physical and psychological well-being, and their ability to engage in real social relationships.

To achieve the campaign’s objectives, we mainly address the mayors of cities that are part of the network, but also other stakeholders who work to support children’s participation and the protection of their Right to Play (Article 31 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child).

To continue promoting the 'I'm Going Out to Play' campaign, the second Dialogue with Pediatricians webinar was held on December 12th, in collaboration with the Cultural Association of Pediatricians (ACP). This event provided a further opportunity to raise awareness about the core themes of the campaign: encouraging children's free and independent play to counteract the early use of digital devices, offering a roadmap to guarantee healthy physical and psychological development in childhood.Furthermore, we invite pediatricians who wish to support the campaign to display the webinar's poster cartoon in their clinics, which can be downloaded from the Quaderni ACP 6/2025 editorial.
